THE MARK T BAND

An essential night out for the Southern Ontario jam-band faithful. Led by master guitarist and Canadian roots veteran Mark Thackway (Days Of You, Whose Cat is Dead), this formidable four-piece locks into the loose, cosmic grooves of the Jerry Garcia Band and the Grateful Dead. Far from a rigid note-for-note copy, the band uses Garcia’s eclectic repertoire as a launching pad for expansive, improvisational exploration, seamlessly weaving through roots, rock, blues, and interstellar psych. Top Lobby (7:30 PM) is a Hamilton-based jazz/funk band known for their crisp, energetic and eclectic sound that has captured audiences. They bring a modern twist to jazz, blending it with funk vibes, punchy rhythms and a lively stage presence that keeps the crowd moving.

Peninsula (8:25 PM) blends art rock and cinematic indie, with textured guitars, emotive lyrics, and dynamic shifts from intimate moments to expansive crescendos. This is the Toronto release of their new LP Sin Resolucion, an atmospheric art rock album shaped by uncertainty, introspection, and layered soundscapes that embrace ambiguity rather than easy answers.

A Sea of Gold and Burgundy (9:30 PM) delivers a soul stirring experience through lyrical songs, three part harmonies and a dynamic range of musical energies from the sublime to the straight forward rock and roll. They will feature songs from their recent release Monarch Mosaic, hailed as “a gem of Modern Folk Music.”

A heavy dose of homegrown underground royalty. Hamilton proto-punk legends Simply Saucer return to unleash their singular, time-tested brand of “sci-fried” rock ‘n’ roll. Fusing the raw, buzzing energy of the Velvet Underground and The Stooges with interstellar Krautrock and dystopian psychedelia, Edgar Breau and company continue to prove why their mid-70s catalog remains a globally revered cult classic.

Opening the night are The Brown Notes, serving up a shapeshifting, melodic opening set heavily influenced by the indie-rock sensibilities of Ween, Guided By Voices, and Wilco.

Expect an exciting, wonderfully off-kilter night of Steeltown rock history.
